Tequila in Telluride

     Good Morning!!

Sorry I have not written in a moment, its kinda hard to keep up with the computer when there are trails to be hiked, mountain roads to drive, hot springs too soak in...    ...you can't blame me..
These first couple of days have been outstanding. This is just what I was looking for! Even though there are still people here, they are few and far between. It is less of an annoyance when there is the potential that they may need to help rescue you if need be. Anything can happen out here.
Case and Point.
This wreck has got to be at least 35 years old. As you get closer, you can see that the van is packed full! There is all kinds of stuff in it. Makes you wonder...
One thing I dearly miss about mountain life is all of the obscurities that dot the countryside. Especially along roads. Trees with faces, phone booths in the middle of nowhere. It is really phenomenal.

I have hit the high country smack dab in the middle of Daisy season. There are daisies EVERYWHERE!!! Wildflowers are to be expected, but holy cow! They are absolutely gorgeous.
Telluride is as beautiful as ever! The afternoon was spent sipping on Etta Martinis (Etta is Butch Cassidy's one true love. She spent her last days in Bolivia drinking these Martinis before coming to Colorado. Citrus Vodka, Sauvignon Blanc, St. Germain, Honey Syrup, garnished with frozen grapes.) and Black Bear Dark and Stormys (Black Bear pass is Colorado's most dangerous pass. You definitely need one of these coming off the pass. Gosling's Black Seal Dark Rum, Ginger Beer & a lime). Thunderstorms roll in and we have to make it back to the Gondola before they close it due to lightning.

~^~ This is wild delphinium. Well, I don't know about wild, but at least growing freely on the side of the road. It is a popular cut flower in florist shops, but I have never seen it with such towering height and vibrancy.
Alright, I think I have rambled on for long enough on this one. I am headed home now to see my family. I will post again from the deck in the backyard, under the cottonwoods, with a beer. :)

Buenos dias!
